Under the Consumer Protection Act 2019, the CCPA has directed these e-commerce companies to permanently remove all car seatbelt alarm stopper clips from their platforms. These clips were being sold under false pretences, such as being marketed as bottle openers or cigarette lighters.

In response to the order, the online retailers have complied and removed the seatbelt alarm stopper clips and related products from their platforms. 13,118 products have been delisted, including 8,095 clips from Amazon, 4,000-5,000 from Flipkart, 21 from Meesho, and one each from Snapdeal and Shopclues.

This action by the CCPA aims to protect consumer rights and prevent unfair trade practices that compromise the safety of passengers. Online retailers have taken steps to align with the directive and ensure the removal of these potentially hazardous products from their platforms.
