News: Finally we see 2020 Honda Fireblade CBR1000RR-R and SP

Honda Fireblade CBR1000RR is one of the most searched engima on the internet this year. Well, why not after all it was one Honda’s vision to stay in and compete with their Italian counterparts Ducati and the race to stay ahead.

With Honda filing a trademark by adding R to its nomenclature of CBR1000RR and throwing the hint to the motorcycle world that there are two variants. The CBR1000RR-R was spied on track going smoothly again giving the motorcycle world the sleepless nights.

We are not surprised that the new CBR1000RR-R was tested by Marquez given the fact that it was his future weapon for MotoGP.

Let’s see what Honda has to offer.

    Compact Engine

The spied variant itself gave us hints in terms of the engine of the new CBR1000RR-R getting compact and no doubt with EURO 5 compliant it is a step ahead in innovation. The engine remains inline-four and shares few likes from its earlier RC213V like the stroke and bore.

The new Honda CBR1000RR-R joins the elite club of 200+ hp with competitors like S100RR and off course Ducati V4. There are few more innovative goodies that are stacked in CBR1000RR and those are friction-reducing technologies borrowed from RC213V-S.

To add to other marvel are the techs like to increase the enhanced feel the CBR1000RR-R gets three riding modes that come as default to balance the additional power that is stacked. The other features include the exhaust that is made in collaboration with Akrapovic.

    Structure

Do not get surprised to know that the Honda CBR1000RR-R uses the advance aerodynamics that comes from RCV213V that is helped by patented winglets technology to reduce the downforce. Honda has made an entire new swingarm and an aluminum frame for Fireblade.

The CBR1000RR-R comes with a TFT dash that is full color. Bosch IMU ( Intertial Measurement Unit). HSTC (Honda Selectable Torque Control). Honda smart key is an additional feature that is added. The drag coefficient is reduced by the fairings. The fuel tank is pushed on the lower side to provide the rider a more comfortable posture.

    SP Variant

SP variant will get all the features of the CBRR-R but will have more tech goodies like Ohlins and Brembo. It also comes gets a telescopic inverted fork with 43 mm inner diameter of 43mm and Ohlins NPX Smart EC with preload at the front and Pro-Link with gas-charged Ohlins TTX36 Smart-EC damper.

Brake duties on SP variant are performed by Brembo Stylema four-piston brake calipers at the front and the rear is brought from the RC213V-S.
