New Triumph Tiger Sport 660: How it will look and perform?

The Triumph Fans France facebook handle has teased as what we could see is the latest prototype of Tiger Sport 660.

It is a good move by Triumph as we don’t see any Sports Tourer in this segment. The latest in this series was Tiger 850 Sport which was launched last year in November 2020.

The Triumph team has finalized tests for the prototype of the new Tiger Sport 660.Dedicated to bringing the performance benefits of a three-cylinder to the medium-cylinder motorcycle category.

The new Tiger Sport 660 look like a marriage between the naked Sportster Trident 660. And the marquee ADV Tiger Sport 1050cc.

There are no official details out, but we say Triumph may borrow the engine from the newly launched Trident 660. The 660c, Liquid-cooled, 12 valve, DOHC, inline 3-cylinder comes from the Street Triple 675.

We understand the motor isn’t new; however, Triumph has updated around 67 components.

    The 660cc motor is capable of building 81 PS / 80 bhp (60 kW) @ 10,250 rpm and 64 Nm @ 6,250 rpm.

The bore stroke is 74.0 mm * 51.1 mm with 11.1:1 as compression. The 6-speed transmission gets support from the slipper clutch, and an up/down quickshifter, too, is available.

Although the prototype is under camaflouge, we see the exterior design arrives from the 1050cc Tiger Sport. However from the healights the Tiger Sport 660 looks more sharp.

It will be interesting to see when Triumph will bring the production version.
