Miquel Pons recovers set to ride for LCR Moto E team

While the MotoGP 2022 season began in Qatar, the LCR Honda MotoE team faced early setbacks.

The all-electric MotoE series will have its inaugural season with seven rounds and 14 races in 2022 and is scheduled to start on May 1, 2022.

The newest electric racing series, which is still in its infancy, was a bit short-handed at the first pre-season test of the season in Jerez.

One rider was missing: Miquel Pons (LCR MotoE Team) had travelled to Andalusia but had to go to the hospital before the test started. He spent some time there and returned to action on Tuesday.

“I arrived in Jerez on Sunday and wasn’t feeling well, so I went to the doctor. I ended up having to have an operation on my appendix.

That’s why I, unfortunately, had to do without the three test days. But now I’m okay, and I’ll be 100 percent ready for the second test.”

    He further said

“At least I was able to meet my team and Lucio, look at the data and prepare for the next test”.

LCR MotoE team encountered roadblocks at the first pre-season test of the 2022 season.

Multiple injuries plagued the LCR squad, but Miquel Pons’ teammate Eric Granado managed to clock the third-fastest time on the first day on the test.

Eric Granado also had an injury with a partial rupture of his thigh muscle. However, he is fit to ride.
