Electric KIA EV6, What’s good? And What’s not so good?

Here is our take on KIA EV6, which is significant in size but is manageable and easy to navigate. The firm suspension and low centre of gravity provide a stable and secure ride, even with a whole load of passengers.

    What’s good?

The brakes may not have a sharp initial bite, but the brake regen system works well for one-pedal city driving. The car’s Sport mode offers instant throttle response and strong acceleration, although the steering lacks feedback and is light compared to a hydraulic power steering (HPS) system.

The car has a superb HUD (head-up display) that allows the driver to keep their eyes on the road while still being aware of its speed and other vital information. The Meridian sound system provides good sound quality when listening to the radio.

    What’s not so good?

However, the view out the rear is poor, and the steering wheel position may block some of the lanes to assist camera views. Nonetheless, passengers in the rear enjoy a comfortable ride.

I appreciate the aural pleasure of a great-sounding engine/exhaust, but I have thoroughly enjoyed the different high of driving a fast and silent car.

The EV6 arrives in two trims.

    • GT-Line with a price tag of ₹60,95,000 (ex-showroom) while
    • GT-Line AWD starts from ₹65,95,000 ( ex-showroom)
