Miller tops the Free Practice 2 at Emilia Romagna, Misano

There was a short ten minute period of sunshine at the start of the session, but following that, it quickly became wet and wild again.

Of course, the usual suspects were at the top, led by none other than Jack Miller, who has had his fair share of success so far in this weather.

The Australian finished more than half a second clear of his nearest rival, Johann Zarco, while Aleix Espargaro and Iker Lecuona rounded out the top third and fourth, respectively.

Miller was rapidly quickest from the off in Misano’s free practice two sessions this afternoon. Leaving all his rivals trailing in his wake as he claimed a clear early advantage.

Fabio Quartararo is leading the championship at the halfway point of the MotoGP season thanks to his consistent performances.

But the Frenchman does not forget how difficult it can be to achieve optimum results in tricky conditions. Most notably mixed conditions.

Misano’s weather was again an issue on Friday, rain starting for FP1. And then coming back in for FP2, leaving the timesheets looking very different at each session end.

Quartararo stood 16th in the table, joined by Mir, Rins and Marquez outside the top 10.

Rossi stood 22nd, followed by Nakagami and Dovizioso.
