Honda 2021 CRF250L and CRF250 Rally specs, price and more

A few days ago Honda had teased its new CRF250L and CRF250Rally. Honda has now unveiled both these models.

The CRF250L comes inspired on the development concept of “Evolved ON-OFF GEAR”, which are a refinement of On (convenience of daily life) and Off (fun of holidays).

    Engine

Both bikes achieve high-level performance. Besides, the CRF250 RALLY has undergone a full model change along with the CRF250L.

    249cc robust motor

Including a large windscreen with a high windshield effect, a large fuel tank. And irregularly shaped headlights, based on the development concept of “The Dakar Replica Weekend Adventurer”.

Both the models arrive with a 249cc water-cooled 4-stroke DOHC single-cylinder engine. With six-speed gear transmission, the engine makes 24hp at 9,000rpm and 23Nm at 6,500rpm.

By optimizing the intake and exhaust system from the air cleaner to the exhaust and muffler, the motor has robust and tenacious output characteristics in the low and middle rpm range.

The engine mount position comes updated via raising the ground clearance with a 10mm increase in stroke. It is all done to improve offroading performance.

    Body

The newly design steel twin-tube frame, a swing arm and an aluminium forged bottom bridge optimizes the rigidity balance and reduces weight.

    All-new chassis

And the suspension is combined with front and rear suspensions that extend the stroke amount (compared to the conventional model).

The frame is 4kg lighter than the standard model.

And to improve the performance on the road, the brakes come equipped with 2-channel ABS with independent front and rear wheels as standard equipment.

The design of the CRF250L follows the aggressive structure of the competition motocross machine “CRF450R”.

Adopting Extreme red as the primary colour and newly adopting a thin LED headlight that expresses the lightness of the off-road model.

The load on the clutch lever and a slipper function come reduced via a slipper clutch which is responsible primarily to push the rear wheel down in case it hops.

Front and rear suspension now have a stroke of 260mm which will improve the absorbency. For front suspension and bottom bridge, Honda engineers have changed the material from steel to lightweight forged aluminium.

Again to optimize the link ratio pro-link type rear suspension has a newly designed link and connecting rod.

    Optimized suspensions

Both the brakes get wave-shaped disc rotors. The rims come polished by black alumite.

The digital dash shows important parameters like gear position / average fuel consumption meter/fuel consumption meter / average speed, as well as the engine speed displayed on the bar graph.

The footing is now improved thanks to the position of seat rail which is updated.

Honda has put the toolbox to store the tools and the toolbox as the key.

    Dakar DNA

The CRF250 RALLY is a design that expresses the adventurous spirit of the “CRF450 RALLY” and participates in the Dakar Rally with the same extreme red as the CRF250L as the primary colour.

In addition to following the asymmetrical twin-lens, LED headlights do produce a unique front view is more popular than before.

The touring performance goes up as Honda expanded the fuel tank capacity to 7.8L. Similarly, fuel efficiency goes up.

    Other equipment

    • Side stand with increased ground contact area for stability during parking.
    • Push-type helmet holder
