August 2019 saw Johann Zarco leaving KTM and was brought in by LCR Honda to take place of Takaaki Nakagami for the last three races. While Nakagami went under surgery.
Zarco looked confident on Philip Island. Zarco was the top candidate on the MotoGP scene to come in place of Jorge Lorenzo as he was set to retire.
However, Alex Marquez’s brother of Marc Marquez who has been doing well in Moto2 and is a current champion has been strongly linked to Honda.
Ducati has thought of putting money in operations at Avintia for Zarco. However, he may not get the 2020 bike.
Zarco was also seen at Avintia’s office that was pictured by Autosport. What we now know was Zarco had a meeting with Paolo Ciabatti and Gigi Dall’Igna who assured him of providing necessary help for a good package.
Now that does mean he will take place of Karel Abraham.
